Two Killed in Freightliner Truck Crash on I-10 Near Van Horn

Van Horn, TX (February 12, 2025) – 48-year-old Niurka Ulloa Reyes and 61-year-old Jose Gomez Jimenez were killed in a tragic crash on I-10.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal incident happened at about 4 a.m. on Interstate 10.

Reports say that the deadly crash claimed the lives of Jimenez of Palm Springs, FL, and Reyes of Tampa, FL

Authorities say that they lost their lives when their Freightliner tractor-truck veered off the road. The vehicle traveled into the center median before colliding with a concrete pillar of an overpass bridge near Exit 129.

Authorities pronounced both Jimenez and Reyes dead at the scene. Investigators have not confirmed whether they were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The DPS continues to investigate the incident.
