Teen Seriously Hurt in Fresno Hit-and-Run While Riding E-Bike
Fresno, CA (January 19, 2026) — A Fresno family is asking for the public’s help after a hit-and-run crash on Cedar Avenue left 14-year-old Noah Gallardo seriously injured.
According to authorities, the crash happened near Cedar Avenue and Ferron Avenue when Gallardo was riding his e-bike.
Reports say that a van began pulling out of a parking lot, and the boy stopped. The driver appeared to signal for him to go, but as he rode past, the van suddenly moved forward and struck Gallardo. The impact pinned the teen between the vehicle and his bike and caused him to hit his head.
The driver did not stop and fled the scene, leaving the injured teen on the roadside. Despite his condition, Gallardo managed to take a photo of the van and call for an ambulance before help arrived.
Doctors later diagnosed him with a concussion that triggered frequent seizures. He has also been forced to miss school and sports activities as he recovers, adding to the emotional toll of the incident.
The family hopes the image captured at the scene will lead investigators to the driver and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Hit-and-Run is a Crime
A hit-and-run is a deadly offense that endangers lives and robs victims of their right to assistance. If you’re in an accident, do not leave the scene and check for injuries, 911 should be called immediately. Leaving can lead to criminal charges, even if the crash appears to be minor. As a driver, own it — someone’s life could hang in the balance.
If you observe a hit-and-run, report it and give any information you can. Assistance to law enforcement can really make a difference. Each of us can do our part to drive responsibly and with integrity, and to get everyone the help they need after a crash.
Hit-and-run crashes can cause devastating injuries and long-term trauma. Drivers should always stay at the scene and render aid after a collision. Parents and riders are reminded to prioritize safety, including wearing helmets and staying alert around traffic.
