Noelio Garza Pena Dies in Horrific Wrong-Way Crash on FM 755 [Starr County, TX]

Starr County, TX (July 18, 2026) — A two-vehicle collision in Starr County claimed the life of Noelio Garza Pena and left another injured Friday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened on North FM 755 near FM 1017 in La Gloria. Investigators said a Dodge Ram towing a trailer was traveling northbound while a Dodge 1500 was heading southbound.

Authorities determined that the Dodge 1500 crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Dodge Ram.

Officials identified the victim as 67-year-old Noelio Garza Pena of Houston, who was riding as a passenger in the Dodge 1500. He died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge 1500 suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to McAllen Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured and declined medical care.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities have not released the identities of the drivers involved.
