Norris R Whittington Sr Killed in Diamond Bar Car Crash

 
Diamond Bar, CA (August 31, 2020) – On Monday, 55-year-old Norris Whittington Sr of Bellflower died in a car crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway.
 
The fatal crash happened Monday, which impacted more than a dozen vehicles on Diamond Bar Boulevard.
 
Rodrigo Jimenez of the California Highway Patrol said Whittington was driving a flatbed tractor-trailer and drifted right to avoid a slow-moving vehicle at about 1:10 AM.
 
Apparently, this caused a chain of reaction collision, affecting multiple other vehicles.
 
A piece of heavy equipment fell off the truck and onto the freeway, while hydraulic fluid spewed out. Moreover, it left a 200-foot trail.
 
In total, 15 vehicles became victims of the debris. One driver and a passenger said they were in pain, but refused to be taken to hospital.
 
The California Highway Patrol thus issued a SigAlert around 1:40 a.m., that lasted until about 7 a.m.
 
CHP said neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash.
