Cape Girardeau County, MO (January 22, 2025) On Tuesday evening, an 18-year-old woman was killed while a 58-year-old Oak Ridge man was hurt after a horrific head-on crash on Route B.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. on Route B.

Reports say that the tragic head-on collision claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman and left a 58-year-old man seriously injured.

Authorities say that the young woman from Patton, driving a southbound passenger car, veered across the center line and collided head-on with an oncoming minivan.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minivan, a man from Oak Ridge, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.

This marks the fourth fatal crash in the MSHP Troop E region this year.
