Injuries Reported in Bruceville-Eddy Pedestrian Accident on Interstate Highway 35

BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, TX (August 5, 2025) – Monday morning, a police officer was injured in an alarming pedestrian crash on Interstate Highway 35.

The incident happened at around 8:50 a.m. on the Interstate Highway 35 southbound entrance ramp near mile marker 314.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a Chevrolet Impala had slowed to a stop as a Bruceville-Eddy police officer crossed the ramp to check on a previous collision. The Impala was then rear-ended by a Ford F-150, causing it to strike the officer.

Both the officer and the Impala’s driver were taken to a nearby hospital. No other injuries were reported. Authorities did not say if the F-150 driver was arrested or cited. The crash is still under investigation.

Bruceville-Eddy Police Chief Dorsey said the officer is now recovering at home after being released from the hospital. He sustained bruises and soreness but no internal injuries or broken bones.

Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
