Man Dead After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 123 in Walnut Grove
Walnut Grove, MO (August 28, 2025) – A 55-year-old man from Walnut Grove died Thursday evening in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 123 at Washington Street, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Investigators reported that around 4:45 p.m., the man attempted to pass an SUV when he swerved to avoid an oncoming van. During the maneuver, he struck both the van and the SUV.
Emergency crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The crash injured the van’s driver and a 13-year-old passenger. Paramedics transported both to a Springfield hospital with moderate injuries.
Authorities confirmed that no one in the SUV was hurt.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
