One Fatally Injured in Rollover Crash on Warner Avenue [Huntington Beach, CA]

Vehicle Overturns in Fatal Collision near Nichols Lane

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 31, 2018) – One person was fatally injured Friday afternoon after a rollover on Warner Avenue. The name of the deceased victim was not yet released by the authorities, pending notification of next of kin.
 
California Highway Patrol officials reported that the accident took place shortly after 3:40 PM near Nichols Lane. According to police spokeswoman, Angela Bennett, a vehicle traveling eastbound on Warner clipped the side of another car going the same direction.
 
The impact caused the second vehicle to roll over. Two people were extricated from the overturned car. One was declared dead at the scene, while the second occupant sustained unspecified injuries. The driver of the first vehicle was not injured in the collision.
 
Warner Avenue was shut down in both directions between Ash Lane and Nichols Lane. No additional information has been released to the public, as officials continue to investigate the fatal accident.
