Police Investigate Crash on Western Avenue in Gardena

Gardena, CA (August 29, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Western Avenue early Friday morning left one man in critical condition, according to the Gardena Police Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:27 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and Artesia Boulevard and involved a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a Chevrolet HHR, Gardena Police Lt. Matthew Hassoldt confirmed.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive man inside the Chevrolet HHR. 

Emergency crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and transported the injured man to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities have not released further information about the condition of the other driver or the cause of the collision. The incident is currently under active investigation.
