Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Bastrop Highway Service Road in East Austin

AUSTIN, TX (June 14, 2026)— One person died Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash on Bastrop Highway Service Road in East Austin, according to authorities.

The crash happened at about 1:00 p.m. on the northbound service road of Bastrop Highway at Montopolis Drive.

Austin police reported on X that officers closed the roadway while they investigated the fatal crash. Authorities asked drivers to avoid the area as crews worked at the scene.

Austin-Travis County EMS said medics performed CPR on the victim before transporting them to St. David’s South Austin Hospital for treatment. Officials later confirmed that the person died.
