Austin, TX (March 18, 2026) – One person sustained injuries in a crash on U.S. 183 on Wednesday evening involving a commercial vehicle.
Travis County Fire Rescue said emergency crews rescued one person from the scene and transported that individual to a hospital by Starflight.
Officials first reported the crash at about 4:13 p.m.
According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 9800 block of South U.S. 183 near Maha Loop Road and FM 1327.
Investigators said a commercial vehicle crashed and spilled concrete across the roadway, forcing authorities to shut down traffic in both directions.
As of around 7 p.m., the Mustang Ridge Police Department said the lanes remained closed and likely would not reopen for at least two more hours.
Officers continued diverting traffic to Maha Road while crews worked at the scene.
Officials have not released the condition of the person taken to the hospital, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
