Orlando Hernandez Arrested in Shocking Crash on Bandera Road [San Antonio, TX]

San Antonio, TX (August 31, 2026) — On Friday evening, 29-year-old Orlando Hernandez faces multiple charges after police say he fled from a traffic stop and crashed into another vehicle on Bandera Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a trooper attempted to stop Orlando Joe Hernandez in a 2011 BMW on Bandera Road around 8:30 p.m. Hernandez allegedly refused to stop and later struck a Nissan at the intersection of Bandera Road and Hillcrest Drive.

Hernandez remained at the scene after the crash. During a search of the BMW, troopers found marijuana and the child inside the vehicle.

Child Protective Services took custody of the child and later released the child to the biological mother. Authorities arrested Hernandez and booked him into the Bexar County Jail on multiple charges. Officials have not yet disclosed the specific charges.

The occupants of the Nissan did not suffer serious injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
