Oswaldo Gutierrez and 16-Year-Old Boy Arrested after Deadly Crash on Monte Vista Avenue [Montclair, CA]

Motorist Dead in Montclair Auto Accident on Monte Vista Avenue and Mission Boulevard

MONTCLAIR, CA (May 19, 2022) – Tuesday, authorities arrested Oswaldo Gutierrez and a 16-year-old boy after a deadly crash on Monte Vista Avenue.

The incident occurred at around 6:57 a.m. on Monte Vista Avenue and Mission Boulevard.

According to reports, a Chevrolet Silverado traveled at a high rate of speed, south on Monte Vista Avenue. Then, it failed to yield at a red traffic light at the intersection and broadsided a black SUV.

As a result, the SUV occupant was rushed to a hospital where they succumbed to injuries. At this time, the identity of the deceased remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Meanwhile, the three Silverado occupants tried to escape the crash scene. However, officers found two suspects soon after. Also, officers found alcoholic containers, narcotics, ammunition, and cash inside the truck.

Thus, officers arrested 20-year-old Oswaldo Gutierrez and a 16-year-old boy. Gutierrez currently faces charges such as felony hit and run, driving under the influence, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, possession for sale of a controlled substance, and transportation for sale of a controlled substance.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old suspect faces one count of willfully resisting or obstructing a police officer, possession for sale of a controlled substance, and transportation for sale of a controlled substance.

At this time, the officers continue to look for 18-year-old Vincent Galvin. Witnesses last saw him wearing a red shirt with the word “Cookie” on it, black pants, and tan shoes.
