San Diego, CA (July 12, 2026) — A 53-year-old man sustained serious injuries after an Otay Mesa Road pedestrian crash where an SUV struck him on Thursday afternoon.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened around 12:50 p.m. in the 6300 block of Otay Mesa Road.

Investigators said a 60-year-old man was driving a Kia Sportage westbound when the pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway from the north side to the south. The SUV struck the man in the eastbound right lane.
