40-Year-Old Paola Salazar Dead in Rollover Crash on County Road 2001 [Andrews County, TX]

Andrews County, TX (March 24, 2026) – 40-year-old Paola Salazar was killed in a rollover crash on CR 2001 Sunday morning.

It was before 8 a.m. when a 2018 Dodge Charger driven by Maribel Santana Ortega, 33, was driven at an unsafe speed northwest. 

Troopers said the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and left the road. 

The Charger then struck a boulder, rolled over, and caught fire.

Ortega’s passenger, Salazar, was killed at the scene, while Ortega sustained serious injuries and was rushed to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
