Passenger Amadeo Cano Injured in Deadly Crash on RM 1061

Driver Killed in Caldwell Solo-Vehicle Crash

Oldham County, TX (February 4, 2025) – 18-year-old Amadeo Cano of Irving was injured following a deadly crash on RM 1061 late Saturday afternoon.

The fatal traffic crash happened before 6 p.m. on the westbound lanes of the highway in Oldham.

Troopers said 34-year-old Douglas Cano-Zetino, also of Irving, was driving a westbound 2004 Toyota Tacoma.

His passengers were 32-year-old Jesse Garcia, 26-year-old Christian Galeano-Ruiz, and Amadeo Cano, all of Irving.

According to the investigators, Cano-Zetino failed to maintain a single lane and went off the road into the north ditch.

Cano-Zetino attempted to get back into the lane but over-corrected the steering to the left. As a result, the truck entered a side skid and traveled across the roadway into the south ditch. The vehicle then rolled over several times.

The authorities said Cano-Zetino was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck. DPS declared him deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, the medical team treated Garcia and Galeano-Ruiz for minor injuries. They were later released at the scene.

The rescuers rushed Cano to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

DPS officers are investigating.
