Passenger Dead in 2-Vehicle Crash on Victoria Avenue [Oxnard, CA]

Oxnard, CA (January 20, 2025) – A Toyota passenger was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Victoria Avenue Saturday.

The two-vehicle crash happened before 10:00 p.m. at the intersection with Doris Avenue.

Investigators said a Nissan’s 19-year-old male driver traveled north and struck the Toyota.

The Toyota’s passenger was killed while its 55-year-old driver was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The Nissan’s driver was also rushed to an area hospital with minor injuries.

According to the authorities, both speed and alcohol are considered factors in the fatal collision. They arrested the 19-year-old driver after showing signs of alcohol impairment and booked him into the Ventura County Jail.

Both the Nissan and the Toyota sustained heavy damage and troopers closed the highway while they cleared the scene.
