Passenger Dies in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Kirby Drive [Houston, TX]

2 Killed in Houston Solo-Vehicle Crash

Houston, TX (December 20, 2024) – Two people lost their lives following a solo-vehicle crash on Kirby Drive early Thursday morning.

The fatal rollover crash happened around 2:30 a.m. near San Felipe Street.

The authorities said a Lexus may have been speeding on Kirby Drive and lost control of the vehicle. 

As a result, the Lexus rolled over and crashed into a tree. Officers said the roof of the car was up against the tree.

Immediately, the driver was transported to a hospital where they died.

 One of the passengers was killed in the backseat of the car while another was rushed to the hospital.

HPD is investigating if alcohol was a factor in the collision. They said they located some form of alcohol in the vehicle.
