Passenger Injured in Fatal Solo-Car Crash on Route M [Pettis County, MO]

Pettis County, MO (June 20, 2025) — Late Thursday night, a 30-year-old Sedalia man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Route M in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly after 11:15 p.m. on Missouri Route M north of Whiteman Road.

Investigators said the driver was traveling north when his vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree and a fence, and then overturned.

The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 26-year-old woman from Sedalia, who was riding as a passenger, sustained minor injuries. Emergency responders transported her to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
