Passenger Krisna Soto Killed in Water Street Collision [Gonzales, TX]

Gonzales, TX (July 4, 2024) – Krisna Soto and Taylour Maddison Pechal, both 18-year-old Temple residents, were killed in a Water Street collision Saturday night.

The fatal traffic collision happened at approximately 8:35 p.m. on June 29.

Investigators said Pechal was driving a northbound gray Ford Escape when she swerved into oncoming traffic and rear-ended a southbound white Mazda CX5.

Pechal’s vehicle continued traveling into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a black Dodge Ram.

Immediately, responders responded to the scene and freed Pechal and Soto from the wreckage. They were both transported by ambulance to San Antonio Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Unfortunately, Krisna Soto and Taylour Maddison Pechal were both declared deceased at the hospital.

Moreover, the Black Dodge Ram’s driver and passenger were taken by EMS to Gonzales Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.

Troopers are still investigating why the Ford Escape veered into oncoming traffic.
