Passenger Mark Wallum Dies in Tragic Crash on SR-395 [Franklin County, WA]

Franklin County, WA (August 25, 2025) — A Sunday morning crash in Franklin County claimed the life of a 76-year-old Mark Wallum and left three others injured, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said the collision happened on SR-395 near Crestloch, about eight miles north of Pasco. A southbound vehicle attempted to turn left onto eastbound Crestloch when it collided with a northbound vehicle on SR-395.

Authorities confirmed that 76-year-old Mark R. Wallum, a passenger in the southbound vehicle, died at the scene. Two other occupants of the same vehicle were rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital with reported injuries.

Both vehicles were destroyed in the crash. Investigators confirmed that all parties involved were wearing seatbelts, and neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the incident.
