Patrick Champion Dies in 2-Car Crash on Dodson Road [Grant County, WA]

Grant County, WA (August 27, 2026) — 47-year-old Patrick Champion of Moses Lake died, and a Royal City man suffered injuries in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Dodson Road south of Frenchman Hills Road.

Grant County deputies responded to the two-vehicle crash around 4:45 p.m. Investigators determined that a southbound Mini Cooper crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Corolla head-on.

Authorities identified the Mini Cooper driver as Champion. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Corolla driver, a Royal City man, went to Othello Community Hospital for treatment. Deputies continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
