San Joaquin, CA (September 11, 2026) – Paul Anthony Mendes, 51, of Hanford, and Scott Randall Seabourn, 68, of Lodi, lost their lives following a San Joaquin River boat accident Sunday evening.

The deadly sea craft accident unfolded past 5 p.m. on September 6.

Police said one of the boat occupants was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.

Rescuers searched through Sunday night into Monday and recovered the bodies of Mendes and Seabourn.

Meanwhile, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a further investigation into the fatal accident.
