According to the Amarillo Police Department, the incident happened near the intersection of Southwest 45th Avenue and Coulter.

Police reported that a 79-year-old man was traveling south along SW 45th Avenue on an electric wheelchair scooter when a van struck him while exiting a nearby business driveway.
