Teen Killed in Late-Night Pedestrian Crash in Mira Mesa

San Diego, CA (December 15, 2025) — A 15-year-old boy was killed Saturday night after a pedestrian accident on Camino Ruiz in the Mira Mesa area.

According to San Diego police, the collision happened around 11:06 p.m. at Camino Ruiz and Hydra Lane.

Investigators said a 40-year-old man was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse northbound on Camino Ruiz when the vehicle hit the teen, who was walking within the intersection.

Authorities have not confirmed the direction the teen was traveling at the time.

Police said the driver did not show signs of impairment. Foggy conditions were present in the area, which may have affected visibility.
