Modesto, CA (June 08, 2025) – A woman was killed Wednesday evening in a horrific pedestrian accident on Fairmount Avenue.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 9:10 p.m. near McHenry and Fairmount Avenue.

Reports say that a female pedestrian died after a vehicle struck her Wednesday night in Modesto.

Modesto Police responded to the crash and found the woman lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews transported her to a local hospital, where she later died.

Investigators determined that a 2014 Kia Optima was traveling northbound in the number one lane when it hit the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene, called 911, cooperated with authorities, and showed no signs of impairment.
