Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 49 Claims a Life [Nevada, MO]

Nevada, MO (June 25, 2025) – 24-year-old man Bella Vista man was killed in a horrific pedestrian accident on Interstate 49 early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, the frightening crash happened on southbound I-49 near Nevada in Vernon County, Missouri.

Reports say that a semi-truck struck and killed a 24-year-old man from Bella Vista, Arkansas.

AAuthorities say that the crash occurred around 4 a.m. when the pedestrian was reportedly in the roadway. A 42-year-old man from Burnsville, Minnesota, was driving a 2000 Volvo VNL610 southbound when he hit the pedestrian. The victim died at the scene.

Emergency responders from Milo Fire, Vernon County deputies, EMS, and Missouri State Highway Patrol responded. Authorities closed I-49 southbound from mile markers 92 to 88 while the Major Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene.
