Santa Fe Springs, CA (December 10, 2025) — A man died Sunday evening after a pedestrian accident on Interstate 5.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 7:12 p.m. just south of Valley View Avenue. Reports say that the pedestrian was already in the traffic lanes when a passing vehicle struck him and continued without stopping.

CHP officers stopped traffic at Carmenita Road and asked Caltrans to close the HOV lane along with the first two lanes while investigators processed the scene. Authorities have not determined why the pedestrian was in the roadway or confirmed his age.
