Blue Springs, MO (May 25, 2025) – A 42-year-old woman from Independence tragically lost her life early Saturday morning after a pedestrian accident on Interstate 70.

According to authorities, the fatal collision happened around 5:04 a.m. along the westbound lanes of I-70.

Reports say that 2 vehicles struck and killed the Independence woman.

Authorities say that the incident occurred on May 24 as the woman walked on Interstate 70.

Officials say that a Mazda CX-5 first hit her, followed by a 2016 Dodge Ram.

Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. Authorities have notified her next of kin but have not released her identity.

Both drivers were uninjured. The Mazda sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
