Injuries Reported in Jackson County Pedestrian Accident near Buckner Tasner Road and Ryan Road

JACKSON COUNTY, MO (December 18, 2025) – Wednesday night, a Jackson County deputy was injured in a pedestrian crash near Buckner Tarsney Road.

The crash happened just after 6:00 p.m. near Buckner Tarsney Road and Ryan Road, south of Interstate 70, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol officials said two deputies were already at the scene investigating an unrelated crash when a southbound vehicle entered the area and struck one of the deputies who was outside a patrol car.

The deputy was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and is reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities have not yet determined the vehicle’s speed at the time of the crash.

The investigation remains preliminary and ongoing.
