1 Dead in Houston Pedestrian Accident on 2300 Emancipation Avenue

HOUSTON, TX (July 22, 2026) – Sunday night, a 68-year-old man died in a brutal pedestrian crash on 2300 Emancipation Avenue.

The incident happened at around 8:40 p.m. on 2300 Emancipation Avenue.

Investigators said the man had parked his vehicle in a designated no-parking zone, obstructing an unmarked crosswalk. As he crossed the roadway, he was struck by a blue Chevrolet Equinox and then by a white Mercedes-Benz S550.

The man was transported by the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police said both drivers, ages 57 and 41, remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and were questioned before being released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
