Horrific Pedestrian Crash on 43rd Avenue Kills Man [Phoenix, AZ]

Phoenix, AZ (July 27, 2026) — A 47-year-old man died after a tragic crash on 43rd Avenue where a pickup truck struck him while he was crossing the roadway on the night of July 24.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the collision happened around 9:30 p.m. near 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

Investigators determined that a Dodge Ram traveling northbound hit the pedestrian as he attempted to cross the street outside of a designated crosswalk.

Phoenix Fire Department personnel transported the man to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released his identity.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said there were no indications of impairment, and speed does not appear to have contributed to the collision.
