Woman Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Car on Euclid Avenue
San Diego, CA (September 6, 2026) — On Friday morning, a 34-year-old woman suffered multiple life-threatening injuries after a pedestrian crash on Euclid Avenue in San Diego.
Police said the woman was running west through a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Federal Boulevard around 5 a.m. At the same time, a 48-year-old man was driving a Mazda south on Euclid Avenue toward the intersection.
The Mazda struck the woman while she remained in the crosswalk. The collision left her with a fractured skull, brain contusion, torn artery, and liver injury. Medical personnel transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
Police determined that alcohol or drug impairment did not contribute to the crash. The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division continues to investigate.
Stop Pedestrian Accidents
To help prevent pedestrian accidents, drivers and pedestrians alike should be increasingly vigilant and watch out for each other. Drivers have to make sure to slow down in crowded areas, watch for people crossing, and not get distracted, like by texting.
Pedestrians should cross only where they are supposed to, heed the traffic lights, and attempt to make eye contact with drivers before stepping off the curb. If you’re walking at night, wear something bright or reflective so you’re easier to see. Do not walk and use a phone or wear headphones on the road.
Drivers should approach crosswalks cautiously and watch for pedestrians, especially in low-light conditions. Pedestrians should also remain alert and make sure approaching vehicles have stopped before crossing.
What Happens After a Traffic Collision?
The aftermath of a traffic accident can feel overwhelming. Between medical appointments, time away from work, insurance calls, and mounting bills, pursuing compensation on your own can be stressful and time-consuming.
That’s why one of the most important steps you can take after a crash is speaking with a personal injury attorney. Having legal guidance can significantly ease the burden. An experienced attorney understands how to investigate the accident, collect evidence, handle insurance companies, and protect your rights throughout the claims process.
Without legal support, many people find the process confusing and frustrating—and some end up receiving far less compensation than they deserve, or none at all. You shouldn’t have to suffer additional hardship because of someone else’s negligence.
At Sweet Lawyers, our seasoned attorneys handle the legal complexities so you can focus on healing and moving forward. We work on a contingency fee basis, which means there’s no upfront cost—you don’t pay unless we win your case. We also offer free consultations, giving you the chance to understand your options with no pressure.
