Pedestrian Crash on Florence Avenue Kills Woman [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (May 17, 2025) – A woman was killed in a horrific pedestrian crash on Florence Avenue early Friday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 12:35 a.m. in South Los Angeles.

Reports say that a driver was arrested after allegedly causing a fatal hit-and-run near Florence and Towne Avenue.

Authorities reported that the suspect, driving a black Dodge Charger or Challenger, was heading westbound on Florence Avenue when they struck the woman. The impact propelled the victim westward, leaving her on the roadway, while the driver fled the scene.

A short time later, the driver returned to the crash site, where police took them into custody for felony hit-and-run.
