Police responded to the area after the crash and advised drivers to avoid the intersection while officers investigated. 

The department said lane restrictions would remain in place for several hours as crews worked at the scene.

The crash comes during a deadly month on southern Arizona roads. According to 13 News, the outlet has reported on 21 serious crashes in April that have resulted in 17 deaths.
