Man Dead After Pedestrian Crash on North Freeway in Houston

Houston, TX (March 18, 2026) – Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on North Freeway that happened around 6:25 a.m. on March 18.

According to the Houston Police Department, the driver of a white Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling northbound on the North Freeway when the truck struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the freeway’s main lanes.

After the collision, the driver pulled over to the side of the freeway and called 9-1-1.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male pedestrian dead.

Police said the driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned before being released.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased man, pending notification of his family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The investigation remains ongoing.
