Compassionate Legal Support After a Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Losing a loved one in a pedestrian crash is heartbreaking. Families may be left with grief, shock, funeral expenses, and painful uncertainty about what happened in the moments before the collision.
When a pedestrian is struck on a highway, investigators must carefully examine visibility, driver attention, roadway conditions, lighting, speed, and why the person was on or near the roadway.
At Sweet Lawyers, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the person who died in this Kansas City crash.
No legal action can ever replace a life lost. Still, a wrongful death claim may help surviving family members seek accountability and financial support for funeral expenses, medical costs, loss of companionship, lost income, emotional suffering, and other damages allowed under the law.
Fatal pedestrian crashes require detailed investigation. Important evidence may include police reports, witness statements, roadway markings, vehicle damage, lighting conditions, traffic camera footage, dash camera video, 911 records, nearby surveillance footage, and crash reconstruction findings.
Investigators may also review whether the driver was distracted, impaired, speeding, fatigued, or unable to avoid the collision under the circumstances.
Insurance issues can be complicated after a fatal pedestrian crash, especially when the facts remain under investigation. Families should not have to navigate calls from insurers or legal questions alone while grieving.
Sweet Lawyers helps families understand their options, preserve important evidence, and communicate with insurance companies with care and professionalism.
