Tragic Pedestrian Crash on Point Pleasant Road Kills 3-Year-Old Child [Sacramento County, CA]

Sacramento County, CA (September 9, 2025) – A 3-year-old girl lost her life Sunday afternoon after a tragic pedestrian crash on Point Pleasant Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 3:40 p.m. on south of Elk Grove.

Reports say that a 29-year-old woman reversed her Nissan in a driveway. A 33-year-old man and the child were standing behind the vehicle when the car hit the girl.

Family members immediately called 911, and Cosumnes Fire crews attempted lifesaving efforts. Paramedics rushed the child to a hospital, but she was pronounced dead at 4:29 p.m.

CHP confirmed that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the accident, and no arrests have been made. The girl’s name has not yet been released pending family notification.
