Pedestrian Crash on Rigoletto Drive Kills Woman [San Jose, CA]

San Jose, CA (September 13, 2026) — On Thursday night, a woman died after a hit-and-run crash on Rigoletto Drive in San Jose.

San Jose police responded to Rigoletto Drive and South King Road around 8:52 p.m. after a pedestrian was struck.

Investigators determined that a man driving a 2018 Toyota Tundra was turning left from Rigoletto Drive onto South King Road when he hit the woman as she crossed in a marked crosswalk.

Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital, where she later died. Authorities will release her identity through the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.

The driver fled before officers arrived. Police later used automated license plate reader technology and assistance from the Real Time Intelligence Center to locate the Toyota and arrest the driver in San Jose.

Authorities booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run offenses. The investigation remains ongoing.
