Tragic Pedestrian Crash on Route AB Kills 47-Year-Old Woman [Cape Girardeau County, MO]

Cape Girardeau County, MO (July 28, 2025) On Sunday evening, a 47-year-old Gypsy woman was killed in a pedestrian crash on Route AB.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the deadly incident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. west of County Road 219.

Reports say that the a Honda CRV heading east hit the woman while she was in the roadway. Emergency responders transported her to a hospital in Cape Girardeau, where she later died from her injuries.

The SUV’s driver, a 25-year-old woman from Scott City, was not injured, although the vehicle sustained major damage. Authorities confirmed this incident marks the 35th fatal crash in Troop E so far in 2025.
