Pedestrian Crash on US 290 Left 1 Dead [Harris County, TX]

Harris County, TX (June 8, 2025) — Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian died after a crash on US 290 (the Northwest Freeway) in Jersey Village, Harris County.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded alongside Jersey Village police to the 16000 block of the freeway after reports of a pedestrian-involved collision. When officers arrived, they found an unidentified man lying in multiple lanes of traffic.

Responders assessed the man at the scene, but he was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m.

Investigators have not yet determined whether the man was attempting to cross the freeway at the time of the crash. Authorities also have not released details about the vehicle or driver involved.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the incident.
