Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Dawson Street [San Antonio, TX]

San Antonio, TX (September 20, 2026) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Dawson Street early Friday.

Police responded to a pedestrian vs vehicle crash past 2 a.m. at the 800 block area.

Investigators said a 2017 Kia Sorento was speeding west when it struck the pedestrian.

The vehicle fled the crash scene and later crashed onto a parked vehicle on N Olive Street. Police said the male driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Troopers have not located the driver as of yet.

Meanwhile, police withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of kin.
