Pedestrian Dies in Interstate 280 Traffic Collision [Hillsborough, CA]

Hillsborough, CA (June 4, 2022) On Friday afternoon, a male pedestrian died in a traffic collision on Interstate 280.

The CHP says that the fatal pedestrian accident happened near the Black Mountain Road off-ramp around 4:23 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck the pedestrian as he was attempting to cross the southbound lane of the interstate.

Reports say that the pedestrian was initially involved in a solo-vehicle accident and somehow ended up in the center divider of the highway.

Moreover, as the man attempted to cross the freeway, a vehicle struck him.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

The CHP advises people in a similar situation to call 911 and remain inside their vehicles with seatbelts on, instead of braving the freeway.
