San Diego, CA (May 22, 2025) – A 50-year-old pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of a horrific traffic collision on Imperial Avenue.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday morning in Encanto.

Reports say that a 49-year-old woman driving a 2018 Nissan Kicks struck and killed a pedestrian.

Authorities say that the driver reportedly ran a red light while heading west on Imperial Avenue and hit the pedestrian, who was crossing southbound in a marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver was unharmed.
