Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Floral Avenue in Selma

 
SELMA, CA (November 11, 2019) — An unidentified pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Floral Avenue in Selma Friday night.
 
The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred near De Wolf Avenue at about 10:35 p.m.
 
An investigation showed that the pedestrian was walking westward on westbound Floral Avenue when they were struck. The vehicle was a Chevy Tahoe traveling at 50 mph, also headed west on Floral Avenue.
 
First responders took the 44-year-old victim to Selma Community Hospital. However, the pedestrian later died from their injuries.
 
The investigators said the driver did not see the pedestrian. The victim wearing dark clothing and walking down an unlit stretch of the road may have contributed to the accident.
 
The officers also said alcohol or drugs did not appear to have been a factor in the collision. However, further investigation is ongoing.
