SAN CLEMENTE, CA (March 8, 2019) – Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian on the 5 Freeway near Cristianitos Road Thursday.
 
Around 6:40 a.m., dispatchers responded to a call regarding a body located off the 5 South Freeway.
 
Once officers arrived, they found a pedestrian lying near the freeway, subsequently pronouncing the victim dead at the scene. According to reports, authorities found zero sign of any drivers nearby. However, investigators are searching for the possible hit-and-run driver involved in this fatal crash.
 
The incident left the area blocked due to investigations.
