Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Camino Del Rio West [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (May 17, 2025) — Early Friday morning, a 37-year-old man suffered critical injuries after a hit-and-run collision near Camino Del Rio West in San Diego’s Midway District.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened around 12:40 a.m. near Kurtz Street.

Investigators said the pedestrian was walking westbound near the south crosswalk when a vehicle traveling south on Camino Del Rio West struck him while passing through the intersection.

The driver fled the area without stopping to help.

Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital, where doctors treated him for a brain bleed and a fractured pelvis.
