Deadly Modesto Pedestrian Accident on I Street near Seventh Street

MODESTO, CA (October 13, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian died in a crash on I Street near Seventh Street in Modesto.

Modesto Police Lt. Jason Grogan said that it happened at around 5:44 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on I Street near Seventh Street and Eight Street. According to reports, the incident happened while it’s still dark, roughly 90 minutes before sunrise.

Grogan confirmed that a westbound SUV struck an adult male pedestrian. As a result, the pedestrian got trapped underneath it.

Then, firefighters freed the man to a hospital where he later succumbed to injuries. His identity remains undisclosed at this time.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Pat Kimes didn’t use a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Furthermore, the SUV driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with investigators.
