Man Dead After Crash on State Route 260 in Camp Verde

Camp Verde, AZ (January 24, 2026) – A 20-year-old man lost his life Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle in a crash on State Route 260 on a Yavapai County highway, authorities confirmed.

The tragic collision occurred around 8:15 p.m. along State Route 260 near Verde Lakes Drive. 

First responders arrived to find the pedestrian suffering from severe injuries. Despite emergency efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office has not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin. 

Officials stated that the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No signs of impairment were detected, and no charges are currently pending.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
