Bakersfield, CA (July 20, 2021) – On Monday, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in an accident on Highway 178.

The officers responded to the scene at around 9 p.m. near Golden State Avenue.

A person walking in and out of lanes along the center median was then struck by a westbound driver.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian incurred severe injuries.

Officers, upon arriving, pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Moreover, the rescues took the involved driver to a hospital for minor injuries.
